Easter in the Capitol

J-Tree - LADC - DC: Day 4 (Easter Sunday!)

Since returning from living abroad, I've been bothered by the fact that of all the capitol cities I've been lucky enough to peruse, I'd never visited my own! I've therefore felt hugely compelled to visit Washington DC asap, and jumped at the first opportunity.

A handful of my friends from high school have moved to DC in the last few years and I made plans to meet up with some of them. Two of them actually grew up on the same street as me and in elementary school the three of us created, and were sole members of, "The Indian Springs Road Club." Creative, no?

After grabbing some much needed Starbucks, we headed to the National Cathedral for a lovely Easter Sunday service. We then spent the afternoon walking around and I soaked in as much as I possibly could. Below are a few pictures from the day's adventures. There's nothing really extraordinary to report, but the cherry blossoms were beautiful and the weather was phenomenal! After hours (and hours..) of walking, we ended up at the historical Ben's Chili Bowl for dinner. Ben's is renowned for being the only restaurant to remain open during the riots in the days following the assassination of MLK, and they also make a mean chili dog.
