I sorely neglected my camera for most of the year and didn't bring it out again until the end of August. This is actually good because otherwise I would want to write about everything I've done and photographed in the last year, and that would take forever. I'll start where the pictures begin, at the Santa Monica Pier.
Each summer the city of Santa Monica organizes what's called "The Twilight Dance Series." They invite musical guests to perform on the pier each week and the shows are free to the public. I was only able to go to two of the last concerts but the turn out was amazing. There were hundreds of people gathered on the beach next to the pier, everyone equipped with blankets, lawn chairs, picnics and refreshments. I like anything that gives the feeling of being part of a community so it was great be amongst the crowd, listening to music, and enjoying the company of friends.
