A Traveler's Perspective

I love to travel. My first international experience was in high school when I convinced my family to host an exchange student from Brazil. It was the first year our high school had exchange students and I loved the fresh perspectives that my  exchange sister and the other students brought to our small town high school.  The summer after she left, I went to Rancagua, Chile for an educational immersion program and I absolutely loved the cultural exchange.  I knew upon returning that I wanted more, and that became my goal.

In college I spent a year studying in Granada, Spain (Although truth be told, we didn't really do much studying...), after graduating I returned to teach English at a public school in Salamanca.  These were two of the  most challenging and rewarding years of my life, and left me craving the feeling of adventure that comes with living and traveling abroad.

These days, my opportunities to travel have been severely restricted by my responsibilities (I'm afraid this may mean that I'm an adult now...), and I've gone an entire year without using my passport.  Luckily,  I live in Los Angeles and there are plenty of opportunities for adventure here at "home."  I've made a significant effort to keep my life from becoming routine, and having officially completed one year in LA as of last week, I feel further inspired to continue experiencing life through the freshness and wonder of a traveler's perspective. My hope is that sharing my adventures may serve to inspire you as well. Enjoy.
